I have a Sager M860TU presently with 2GB of DDR3 at 1066 fsb and back in September when i bought it another 2GB stick was like $200! I figured I'd wait and see how much prices dropped, and today i checked newegg and found this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145228
I just want to be sure im reading this right and that it will be the same specs as my other stick of RAM and will work correctly at $150 cheaper than i would have paid a few months ago...

It's because they have gone 'mainstream'. Since the release of the "new" Centrino 2 platform, most manufacturers have adopted DDR2 800mhz or DDR3 1066mhz as their primary RAM configurations.
Prices are always outrageous when the product has been just released, or is a rare or unique product. -
They mass produced it for the mainstream market to keep the cost down. Same thing happened for DDR2-667. Also put in account neweggs daily cheap prices.
Either that or its an error -
yea ddr3 1333mhz is cheaper than the 1066mhz

When will we see 8gigs (4gigs*2) packs?
-
They already have 2 x 4Gb kits but they are only for DDR2 sodimms for now. They are pretty expensive, like $300 and up.
It will take some time for these kits to become widespread.

too bad desktop ddr3 is still really expensive =(
i saw the price for ddr2 and its sickening at how low it is.
Am I missing something or did DDR3 RAM prices really drop this fast?
