I "was" having a dell xps m1530 Just 1 day ago as it died due to spark inside the laptop because of nvidia card.If i am not mistaken dell has declared 2 yrs warranty for that card, right?
Today i spoke to dell after waiting for an hour just for listening that:-
dell:-hello this is Malawan how can i help you today??????????????
Me:-my laptop has died because of nvidia failure.
dell:-may i have your service tag please?????????????
    me:-yes, its *******
dell:-i am sorry sir i can't help you because we don't have replacement mobo.
me:-ok i can wait for it.
dell:-no sir i mean we can't change your mobo as we no longer deal with this problem.
me:-but dell has expanded mobo warranty for 2 yrs.
dell:-mmmm....let me check it sir i will be back within a minute.

computer:-del offers wide range of monitors....n blah blah blah for 20 minutes.

dell:-sorry to keep you waiting but i can't help you.
me:- i want to talk to your manager.
dell:- thank you for calling dell have a good day.

Now tell me what shall i do it is really annoying. I never expected this from dell.I am going to file a case against them in consumer court.
Now you guys tell me what you would have done if you were in my place.

don't they have online technical chat? it will be faster and much better.. anyways , they should give u replacement laptop if they can't replace mobo.. many here with failed 1530s have got XPS1645 etc.. as for what i would have done would have been to demand to see manager but he was rude to slam the phone on u.. give one more chance than file a court case...

If you take anything to court you must have everything you've done listed and explained. In order to win a case, you need proof that you gave them every possible opportunity to correct the problem. That means keeping meticulous records. So far, you've just gotten out of the starting gate.

You should check out my posts on HP (the bottom feeder of support). I just sent my laptop in for the second time for the same problem. With HP, they talk real nice (I use emails), but don't do follow through worth anything. I just hope I get my machine back and in working condition by Friday. Otherwise, it may be obsolete by the time it's fixed.

File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau ( www.bbb.org). You'll be surprised how effective they are in settling merchant-buyer disputes.

Definitely try online chat first. I've gone through both, and trust me, for whatever reason, online chat works while phone support doesn't. I LOVE business online technical support as they're very helpful and overnight parts if necessary. Dealing with the phone reps have always been like going to the dentist.

Here in India they don't have the facility of online chat.
Today i called up dell once again and guess what happened???? the same person with the same welcoming tone was handling my call, so i disconnected the call.Is their any way to talk to a different technician?
I request all of you to help me as my nvidia 2 yrs warranty is going to expire in no more than 1 month.
[email protected], the website you have provided me is not opening as it says "INVALID ADDRESS".

EDIT:-Again i tried calling them, but this time their was another person with weird english , so tell me what shall i do?

Just keep trying. Try and contact them another way, where you don't get shabby service. You may be able to get an SXPS 1645 or 1647, as other users here have.

Remove the ")" from the link and you would be good.

There are a few things to clarify.
First of all? Is it an Nvidia failure or you think it is an Nvidia failure?
Next: do you have a warranty saying that there are 2 years or some proof of extension?
Next: as far as I knew you can go to chat from the dell website, are you sure you can't go by their website?

And as usual, trying to speak nice and calm tends to work wonders.

    I hope this help.
