I noticed that HP is now offering this new processor in the DM3Z. I can't seem to find much information on it though. I'm interested mostly in the battery life, my main gripe with the old ones. Any idea if performance is much better? I'm trying to compare performance to the Asus ul30vt with the u7300. Thanks for any info.

Thanks, what I was really hoping for was to see some benchmarks on it compared to the u7300 though

No benchmarks yet but the previous generation Turion Neo X2 L625 performed only slightly worse than the SU7300 so I would guess the K625 is basically equal. The battery life will most likely be worse because the SU7300 is rated at 10 TDP and the K625 is 15 TDP. Probably looking at around 5 hours of battery life with the K625/5430 combo the dm3z offers.

TDP is not the same as power consumption. The AMD processor has its memory controller on-chip and therefore is not practical to compare directly to the Intel chip, which has its memory controller located on the Northbridge. You would need to look at basically the whole system to compare power consumption, not just the CPU.

I suggest waiting for more info on this chip before buying, or at the very least a review of the system with the AMD chip.

I found this topic while searching for a review or a benchmark on this processor. I found a page of passmark benches, and the K625 edges out the su7300- 982 to 981

Still waiting on a review though.
