Bought from day one. Had problems with songs playing at high pitches. Hell, even when playing CS, my hdd hangs due to the sound. No such problems with earphones. Only when using speakers. Is it time for a hdd change? I sent it for a few times to the service centre and they said my hdd isnt faulty. What could be it?

I doubt that it is a HDD hardware problem... reinstall sound card drivers maybe? :\

Asus v1jp. bought in 07. Software used, WMP 11. The same goes for my games too. Played GTR2 and ran the car at high revs, the thing hung. Rfactor too. And of course, youtube videos.

Try disabling your soundcard in the device manager and see if the problem persists.

If that doesn't work, try an alternative music player for WMP, like VLC.
