So I am running my laptop primarily off of A/C power with my battery left in it... Is it better to leave the laptop plugged in 24/7 like a desktop, or should I unplug it when I am done using it for the day?

Well there is no difference laptop or battery wise if you just leave it plugged in but leaving it plugged in still draws a tiny bit of electricity that over the long term, will cause a bigger electrical bill.

Unplugging it after using the laptop and then replugging it in, of course, is only task for the non-lazy and green individuals and thus, I have not opted for that option.

Batteries is better to keep away from heat. The best way to conserve the battery is to unplug it while on AC power. Search the forum, you'll find a good Battery Guide here
