    Antec USB Notebook Cooler

it won't let me post a link cause i d't have 15 posts but if you google it Antec's site comes up towards the top for it.

    Anyone have one of these?

I'm looking for something that keeps my laptop cool while sitting in the recliner on my lap.

This one looked pretty good but well ya know there are like 156,000 different coolers/pads.

I have a 15.4" Acer Aspire that likes to get warm and i've had problems in the past with it getting to hot and shutting down and i'm past the warrenty so i figure i'll get one of these.

Looking for something relatively inexpensive but something that works.

    Thanks

I prefer noiseless passive coolers like this one:
    http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.7588

However, it works only if your environment is not too hot, your laptop is not emiting too much of heat, and for a couple of hours only (then you have to replace the pad or to cool it until its melting material solidifies again).

I got one over 2 years ago from Staples on sale for $10. It has 2 settings and "high" is a little loud, but "low" is OK for me. It's very lightweight. The only thing I didn't like is the shape of the cooler because the rubber feet of my 14.1" Toshiba didn't line up with the cooler's surface; so, I had to sit the laptop at an angle on top of the cooler in order to get that gap for air flow. Also, after 2 years, it now makes an annoyingly loud noise (think small lawn mower) from all the dust bunnies that I had trouble cleaning off of the 2 fans. But, it worked pretty well with my Toshiba for all those years. Not bad if you're on a budget.

There is another Antec product that some recommend (Antec Cooler S), but I think it would be hard to use while sitting in a recliner because of its design.

I'm looking to buy an NC1000 for my new, smaller laptop though.
