I'm currently looking for laptop and I have come to conclusion that nr1 priority is matte display (I absolutely dread the glossy display). Given this restriction - I am forced to take out of consideration otherwise good laptops with probably only flaw - glossy display.
And then I realized that one can buy screen protectors with glare reduction.
Are they any good?
Do I get the same result as if I initially bought matte display?
Or.. perhaps matte displays that are sold on certain laptops are the same glossy screens just with matte film that I'm talking about in this topic?
Pros/Cons?

They are good, but can be a pain in the butt to apply.
Here's a quick guide I did: http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...773-tips-installing-lcd-screen-protector.html
May seem overkill but your success rate of not having bubbles or dust behind it is quite high. -
I am aware of caveats regarding the application of the display protector.
My main question is the performance - I would accept some minor loss of color sharpness, but only to some extent.
Is there anyone with actual experience of owning matte screen protectors? I believe they should be quite popular among Mac users since all of their screens come with glossy finish (eww).
And another important question - which manufacturers should I look at, since I have no idea if one or another screen protector is better or worse regarding user experience. -
If applied properly they look remarkably like a regular matte screen. They're relatively cheap and if you don't like it, remove it.

Sounds like it is worth the try.
Now the last unanswered question: what brand?
Lets say I own 13.3' MacBook Pro. What screen protector should I get?
Anti-glare screen protectors/films
