Hi, I am about to buy a Thinkpad edge e420, there are two possibilities

    1) intel core i3 2310M 2,1 GHz with AMD Radeon HD6630M 1GB, AntiGlare display

    2) intel core i5 2410m 2,3 GHz with AMD Radeon HD6630M 1GB but with GLOSSY display

They are identical except for CPU power and display, both have same graphic card.

Notebook will be mainly for work: MS office, internet browser, movies and such things but sometimes I would like to play some game (oblivion, mafia 1,2). I want to ask if I can tell the difference between those CPU in games like those I mentioned, the work in browser, movies and such and therefore to buy notebook with i5 but worse display or there will not be no considerable difference and go with i3 CPU and antiglare display which is much better IMO (the display i mean).

    Thank you very much.

Well technically neither of the displays are very good. Image quality won't be the best, and the resolution is rather low. But if you're not spending more than $699 and need the portability of a 14", you're not really going to get anything better.

    Oblivion:
    Oblivion:System Requirements - UESPWiki
It says a "3GHz Pentium 4" is the recommended requirement, and that it requires fast single-core performance. The i5 gets 40% better single-core performance than the i3, but the i3 will certainly beat a 3GHz Pentium 4 at anything as far as I can tell.

    Mafia 1:
Mafia for PC Information, Mafia Specs - GameSpot.com
Recommended requirements state Pentium III 700MHz. You don't need to worry about CPU here.

    Mafia 2:
Mafia 2 System Requirements and Mafia 2 Requirements for PC Games
Recommends 2.4GHz quad core processor. You might notice a difference here.

If the Anti Glare still has good natural vibrant colors then that would be perfect in any situation. But if that matte screen has the quality of the x120e or t420 where it is washed out and lacking any color vibrance and brightness then go for glossy.
