I'm looking at the Microsoft Presenter 8000 and Dell Bluetooth mouse right now -- both have 2 buttons in addition to the usual left-right-wheel.

Now, both mice claim them to be "programmable buttons", but I'm pretty sure they're not as programmable as I think.

What I need is to program those buttons to anything I want, whether it be adjusting volume, to launching programs, to executing a (sequence of) keystrokes.

My solution right now is a Logitech LX7 mouse with Logitech SetPoint and uber SetPoint patch (really awesome), which allows full configuration of the 2 buttons on it.

However, I plan on going Bluetooth, and I need a similar solution.

    Any suggestions?

Logitech MX900 also seems like a good choice now, since I know it can use uber SetPoint.

All 3 of the above mice can use AA batteries, and that's also important to me.

Also in the running is Logitech MX1000 bluetooth version. Although I'm not sure if it takes AA batteries.
