    Quite weird but i think its because your processor has a 800MHz FSB... there should be no problems... repeat no problems upgrading to P8800 but i would try to get a T9400/9600/9800/9900 or P9500/9600/9700 to see any benefits...with these processors your RAM will run at 1066MHz..

    Since you have a PM45 chipset, you can use any of the typical 35W Socket P processors, including the P8800 and T9550. Quads and Extremes may not work. That being said, it's weird that your memory's not running at full speed; I'd have thought that the laptop would be smart enough to do so regardless of the processor's bus speed...

    Not that you'd notice a difference between 800MHz and 1066MHz memory with everything else held constant.

    Go ahead with the T9550..however if you can find a T9600 on best buy or someother store try getting that..if you can , A P9500/9600 would also be a good choice.
