    Hi,

I just wondered if there was any differences between MXM 2.1 cards and MXM 3 card ? ( Except the fact that the memory is reduced to 800 with MXM 2.1 )

    Does a M860TU accept MXM 3 cards or only MXM 2.1 ? can we put a MXM 3 GTX 280M inside a M860TU ?

Because I just read that MXM 3 card are 82 mm width and 100 length, and measured my card in my M860TU, it seemed to have the same dimansions.

    (MXM 2 = 73 mm width / 78 mm length )

    Thank you.

    EDIT: soz, I was wrong

no, you can not put an MXM 3 card in your machine, you have to search for MXM 2.1 type III

the m860tu can take the gtx 280m. the mxm slot on it though is 2.1 and not 3.0. you can order it from rjtech here. you're goin to need the backplate off your old card btw to get it working with the heatsink correctly.

MikjoA. If you so happen to purchase the GTX 280M from RJTech, may I buy the M570TU heatsink from you?
