Smaller notebooks 13" and under are definately capable of having OLED screens put in them. They would probly be atleast +1500 to the cost but it is definately plausible. OLED's have amazing contrast, they can get total pitch black and incredibly bright white. Images pop off the screen. They look insane. They can also be made just millimeters thick use very very low power and weight practically nothing. As there been any anouncements of any notebooks considering this as an option?

You are significantly off in your price estimates.

The recently discontinued Sony XEL-1 11" tv set, running at 1/4 the resolution of a computer screen, listed for almost $3000. Sony says that it never came close to recovering nominal production costs never mind R&D.

No matter what foolish price YOU are willing to pay for something, the makers will always look at the mass market first. This is why cell phones that are made and sold by the millions each month have some OLED screens while people like Samsung are working on process and manufacturing of televisions in the 40" and larger range.
