I keep seeing articles saying that OEMs would like it to be delayed, but after searching I couldn't find anything officially saying that Calpella will be delayed.

I don't know about official word either, but I have seen reliable users post that the platform is indeed delayed.

From what I have gathered, Calpella was designed to run Nehalem chips. Originally the 1st generation Nehalem notebook chips were supposed to be out around now and then Calpella would launch in July/August 2009 and take 2nd gen Nehalem chips. This is how it has been happening in the past. Penryn launched Jan 2008 followed by Montevina and 2nd gen penryn chips in July 2008 and Merom launched August 2006 followed by Santa Rosa and 2nd Gen Merom in May 2007. The quad core Nehalem notebook chips (Clarksfield) are now scheduled to launch "Holiday 2009" (read December) followed by the dual core (Auburndale) in Q1 of 2010.

I imagine Calpella will be pushed back to coincide with those launches, the 2nd of which is more relevant to most of us here as it will replace 25W and 35W standard voltage penryn chips (and the LV and ULV variants thereof).

No. Calpella will run the first generation of mobile Nehalem chips and was always supposed to do so. The first generation of Nehalem chips is out (Core i7), but these are of the desktop variety (130W TDP).
According to whom? Last time we spoke about it on this forum (January 5th) there was talk of delaying Clarksfield from July/August 2009 to October 2009 (see this thread), but I haven't heard of "Holidays 2009" before.

Anyone have links to a source on any of this info? I wasn't able to find any word about any of this in any news outlet.
