Id like some help finding some parts on digi-key for a little project.
This one is easy and I have similar parts from radioshack already picked so just need to find similar equivalents.
The project is a simple A/B Switch for my headphones.
It will consist of one input probably 1/8" 3.5mm type on the back side of a small project box.
A single dpdt switch on the top to toggle the output.
And two output jacks of 1/8" 3.5mm type in the front.
I like this switch here: DPDT 10-Amp Toggle Switch with Center Off Position. - RadioShack.com
Because its dpdt but also has a center off selection so I can "mute" my headphones with. Its also easy to mount to a project box with a single drill hole.
For the jacks, something simple like this is fine, long as its easy mount via a single drill hole on an enclosure, I can definitely solder the connecting wires so dont need any fancy screw downs.
1/8" Stereo Panel-Mount Audio Jack (2-Pack) - RadioShack.com
I just want to go digikey to save money, Radioshack is infinitely more expensive for everything.
So parts list.
> 1 small project box, hard plastic, screw shut type color black
> 3x 1/8" 3.5mm stereo jacks
> 1x dpdt switch preferably with center off like the one linked above.
optionally maybe find a 1/4" stereo jack also just incase I decide to add native support for the larger headphone jacks. My headphone amp actually uses this type of connection.

Ick, the digi-key catalog is always a pain to go through. Since you already have similar parts on hand, can you pull a P/N or a specific spec off the component? There's way too much choice in the digi-key catalog. I don't think you'd have to go with crazy tolerances for audio, but the avsforum folks would absolutely disagree. I'm sure someone on there has tried a similar project, although they may not have listed the specific components used.

If you don't have a hard copy of their catalog, call and get one. It is way easier to flip through and look for what you want than trying to search their site. Just be sure to tell them you only want one, otherwise they send them out quarterly.

I had a hard copy but think I tossed it when I ran out of room to keep it :/
Yeah overkill but same price, better ratings and it has the center off position. No reason to downgrade.
Any pro digi-key part pickers in here?
