I'm looking for reviews of the Crucial C300 64GB.
It's significantly cheaper here than Vertex 2 60GB and Intel G2 80GB.

Intel X25-m has 70MB/sec. So 75MB/sec isn't that bad. -

Hi phil, I dont want to take over you thread, but you seem like the guy to ask about SSD, how about this one.
"Kingston 64GB SSDNow V SSD 2.5" SATA-II - Read = 200MB/sec, Write = 110MB/sec" only £104.99 at ebuyer. -
Sequential R/W speeds are useless to compare for the most part. What marketing wants to show and the speeds that are important never match up for SSDs. Tinderbox, check out CrystalDiskMark 4kB R/W benchmarks for the Kingston SSD, Intel SSD, and a HDD to see how "slow" some SSDs can be. Also, check out power consumption. Typically, the best performers (and obviously highest priced) are Sandforce, Marvell (Crucial C300), and third Intel drives but the lower power consumptions with good performance (and "cheaper" - but still expensive compared to HDDs) are Samsung, Toshiba, and third Indilinx.

The Crucial C300, which uses the Marvell controller, is a lot faster and only 15 GBP more expensive.

Like Sgogeta said, sequential speeds mean little. Even 4K random reads don't tell the whole story.
Best is to dig up some reviews where real life performance is measured.
This is a very good read: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/reviews/989/pg18/hard-drive-roundup-june-2010-load-times.html -

Thanks phil , which brand ssd gets the best support, like firmware updates and other fixes when problems arise.
I thought Intel might be one of the best? -
Yes Intel has the best reputation. You could look at the Newegg customer reviews to get an idea. 5 stars across the whole line iirc.
Thing is, Intel G2 80GB is overpriced at the moment AND reaching end of it's product cycle. -
Anyone got one yet?
Any reviews of the Crucial C300 64GB SSD yet? Possibly best/price performance SSD
