I just got my 9300 friday and realized that Im probably going to sap those gigs quick with gaming and music and movies.

I'm looking around for a decent sized external harddrive. Something in the 100 range but I don't know what is good. I know I need at least 100 gigs or more. 7200 rpm.

Any suggestions or places to go??

If you can, wai titl the holidays come and pick up any 3.5" HD's that brick-n-mortar stores(BestBuy/WalMart/etc.) have on sale during this time of the year. $80 for 240 gigger(or more) and then $20 for an enclosure is ideal.

When I buy, I buy a normal harddrive that goes into a computer correct then the enclosure? Is that correct?? I believe one of my friends suggested that, but my computer knowledge is limited.

How would I put it together?

Yes. The HDD goes in the enclosure and that's it. There will be an adapter that'll connect the HDD to the enclosure itself which will be connected via USB to a computer. Don't worry, it's easier than you think.

lol, i kno. I worry because I am horrible at technical stuff. Thanx for the help tho. I'll be in the market at the end of the month once i get the funds for it but the 40 gigs left should be fine.

If you want plug and play you can get a drive with a built in HDD...

A used hard drive isn't a bad idea either. I picked 40GB up on eBay for $35. Works great. Just make sure you buy from a reputable seller.
