    Any use for a dead power adapter?

    So my 120w g51 power adapter died.
    Plug it in, light comes on and begins to fade out, failing to output power.
    Is it as good as garbage or is there anything I could do, aside from scrap the jack?

    Maybe sell it on Ebay? Those can be refurbished by people who know what they are doing. Or you can use it an a paper weight. :p

    Cut the power socket and keep it a side for a possible replacement for the next adapter. Throw the rest to trash bin...

    quite a bit of metal in there. if you collect aluminium cans etc you can put it in that heap and bring it to the recycler. they'll pay you for it
