I have a 30" with my desktop that I want to use for my laptop.

Is there ANY way to be able to drive 2560x1600 resolution (Dvi-Dual Link) with my OCZ Whitebook (Alienware M17) now or in the near future? (Maybe they'll release some adaptor?)

I almost want to get a new Macbook Pro 17" to be able to drive 2560x1600. How do the MBP compare to Whitebook performance and graphics wise?

    Thanks

Whitebook has VGA and HDMI out, which limits output to 1920x1200. I think only M1730, high end MBP, and some Clevo model can do 2560x1600 via Dual Link DVI port. Sadly HDMI (1.3) to D-DVI converter is still rare.

3870 x2 will out perform 9600m in MBP anyday on paper, its just not very consistant performer in games so I hear.

Alot of business notebooks have D-DVI out if you get a dock with them. Then again, neither is cheap.

    HDMI 1.3 won't convert to Dual-DVI for 2560x1600...
