    Thanks!

Never heard of the concepts. USB is bidirectional by nature, so I don't see the point of such a distinction.

The connections of the USB are half-duplex, meaning that some wires are used for in-stream and some are used for up-stream.In the case of USB there are two wires : D+ and D- one for input and one for output. But their usage in accessories is what makes them USB-in and out [to establish every form of communication - for the packets and such - both D+ and D- will be used].I think the USB-in you are talking about are the ones found on cooling pads and such. For the power-in USB ports the D+ and D- remain unconnected.
Can you explain which specific device you want to find out about ?

As far as I know, although I am not positive, you just have to use one side of the USB or the other depending on whether or not it is in or out.

    Don't hold me to that.

Yep, only the power pin matters for coolers.

Also, your Avatar should be titled: "Mini-Me".

I'm sorry to say this mujtjaba, but that is an uterly incorrect statement. There is only one USB signal, "D", that can be used for in or out communication. But the physical signalling technique is differential, hence the D+ and D-.

    Thanks Gator ;) (17" F&S and 8.9" F&S)

I do not really understand what you mean with female or male connectors. But it is the kind of USB port you find in a Cooler Master Notepal W1 or Spire Pacific Breeze cooler.

    Thanks in advance!
