    Hey all,

I'm looking to getting a new battery for my Dell XPS M1530. The laptop is almost three years old and the 6-cell battery that it came with only lasts about 1.5 hours now. I'm a graduate student and have 3-3.5 hour classes, so the battery just doesn't cut it anymore. I've been thinking about getting a 9-cell battery but since I'm a poor student I can't swing the $150 needed for an official Dell battery. I've been looking around at some third party batteries and came across this store Acer notebook battery, Laptop computer batteries, Wireless Baby Monitors, Wireless Headphones - Agptek.com that sells batteries. They seem to have decent reviews on Amazon (no worse than the Dell batteries are reviewed on Dell.com) but no one has reviewed the m1530 battery yet. For under $35 I'm thinking about giving it a shot.

Has anyone purchased batteries from AGPtek before? At least there is a company with a name behind the product, which seems much safer than buying a random battery on ebay. Honestly, after looking around for a while even the supposedly GOOD stores selling OEM batteries don't have great reviews. I just want to make sure that this company doesn't have a horrible reputation that I don't know of. This is the battery I'm thinking about buying. Thanks all

I don't recommend 3rd party batteries at all. Purchase an OEM battery on Ebay from a reputable seller.

What sellers are reputable? All the original/oem batteries being sold on ebay are out of China or Hong Kong, and they all have at least one bad review saying the products are good fakes, but not oem.

I don't know... I think I'd rather by something from a US company through Amazon than some random place in China. At least that way I might have a chance with getting some decent customer service if the product doesn't work. All batteries come from Asia anyways...
