And if so were you happy? I have a broken LCD and am looking for a replacement, (And plan on upgrading the screen resolution) but the other place, blisscomputers.net only have a 120 DAY warranty whereas laptopscreen.com have a 3 year warranty on the dell mini 1012 screen I am looking at. Just needing advice...Thanks in advance!

(Hope this was the right forum for this, I thought the LCD is hardware, so forgive me if it's posted in the wrong forum)

Thanks ntheo, I appreciate the link to the other thread. Bliss has NO reviews yet on that sitejabber site, so I don't know what to think...Still not sure who we're ordering through just yet.

If you do decide to get one from any place, let me know how it goes and the quality of service. It may be useful for me in the future.

Sitejabber.com deletes positive reviews to keep more negative feedbacks for businesses to look bad. I think they try to get businesses to be dependable on sitejabber like BBB does.
I left two positive reviews recently on sitejabber and they deleted both in a day while my negative is still there. The reviews were for a monitor and for shoes. Scammers.

I am happy to report we bought from them (laptopscreen.com) and I couldn't be happier with my bright new 1366x768 Screen upgrade. It's awesome! I don't belong to site jabber but I can say here that I don't regret ordering from them, it comes with a three year warranty too. So I am stoked! Hubby installed it today on my mini in under 20 minutes. If I had to replace another screen I would definitely repurchase from them. I ordered Tuesday and it was here today by 2:30 pm. And installed about twenty minutes later. I paid about $63 bucks for mine shipped and it was well worth it. :)

Thanks! I am tickled pink that it worked and that they were so great to deal with. I knew once it was installed and working that posting about them and the customer service they showed in shipping my order within MINUTES of ordering it was only fair after all that bad press on site jabber. I am so pleased. :D

I needed a new screen for my Acer Aspire, and when I started looking around, I found lots of bad reviews for laptopscreen.com - saying it was a scam and everything else.

Well, the price was good enough to make me give it a spin anyway, and I nervously placed my order. Yay! No problems for me. Shipping was surprisingly fast. Product is new and as promised, works perfectly. There is no retail packaging, notes, or instructions of any kind in the box, but I found a youtube video and all is absolutely perfect - for almost half the price I found elsewhere.

I'm not a shill for the company or anything, everything I said above is true. I signed up here just to share my most recent purchase experience, so no, you're not going to find any other posts by me on this site. If you're skeptical that I'm representing the company and putting up a false review, then so be it, there's nothing I can do to convince you. (Personally, I was skeptical, that's why I'm going through the trouble of writing this).

    Good luck in your decision.

I've ordered several replacement screens from laptopscreens.com for Lenovo ThinkPads (T420, T420s, T410 and T400) and the Dell Latitude D830 and E6400. Every screen has worked, had no dead pixels or other complaint. Them being in Canada has not delayed delivery or otherwise complicated the ordering process. Like WheeledGoat mentioned, the screen shows up as a bare part, with no instructions on how to do the installation. But that is OK by me. I just want the part. Instructions for replacing the screen can often be found in the Hardware Maintenance Manual or on YouTube. In fact, with my last order Laptopscreens.com sent me a follow up email asking me to do a YouTube video of my screen install.

I also ordered a screen from laptopscreen.com recently and had no problems. They shipped quickly and the price was less than any of the sellers on ebay. Like choder, I also got a follow up email -- mine said they will pay $50 if I do a Youtube video of the screen replacement.

Just ordered a screen for my Samsung R480 laptop. Hope everything goes smooth. I'll report back when I get it!

Thanks to the previous posters for sharing their experiences, I probably wouldn't have ordered from laptopscreen if I hadn't read those.

Yeah, +1 for LaptopScreen.com. I recently bought a matte panel there for a quite rare Packard Bell laptop to replace its 5-year old glossy screen which started to dim. So far, no issues whatsoever.. the screen quality is also superb.

Hey guys I received my screen and I'm extremely happy with my experience. I ordered my screen on Sunday, it shipped out Monday and I got it today (Tuesday). I was surprised to see it when I got home since UPS estimated that it would come tomorrow.

The box it came in was clearly labelled with 'fragile' stickers and the screen itself was in bubble-wrap.

Following their video tutorial I replaced the screen (took less than an hour) and it works perfect!

Like others, I was skeptical of laptopscreens.com but I'm really glad I gave them a chance. Best Buy quoted me $400 to replace my screen and small shops were charging $150-200 with a couple days days turn-around time. I ended up spending just under $80 total.

I recently ordered the EXACT screen from them.

They sent me a Chimei Innolux N173HGE-L11.

I'm in their RMA process right now, but I suspect that they don't have any since they didn't send it in the first place.

When I asked them why they didn't send me the screen I ordered, they gave me this "what?? We sent you a compatible screen! What more do you want??" kind of attitude. They were trying to rush me into installing the screen because after that, you can't return it.

I wouldn't buy from them again...

You can always return the screen, even after you installed it.

And it is true, we do send out compatible models, as we mostly cater to people with broken LCD screens - who mostly care to get a working screen.

But we do understand that there are a few exceptionally outstanding panels that people would like to upgrade to.

We currently sell only one "EXACT" model: B156HW01 V.4
(I'm not allowed to post links, but if you go to our website, and search for this model, you will see "EXACT PART NUMBER B156HW01 V.4" written in red, as opposed to our usual "Compatibility: Compatible with B156HW01 V.4")

We are looking to stock the B173HW01 V.4 and V.7 (as well as B156HW01 V.7), and we'll have an explicit notice on the site to the tune of "Exact Model"

As our official policy: "Upgrades are not recommended"
Because we do not have a comprehensive database of LVDS compatibilities,
I recommend clearing any potential upgrades to be purchased from us with me first.
I will (to the best of my ability) advise where an upgrade is suitable for your system,
whether you will require any other potential parts, and what exact models we have on hand.

If you need any help with the RMA, feel free to PM me you ticket/order number, and I'll take personal attention of your case.

    Regards,

    Ellis

P.S. The front line support operates on premise that you are ordering because you have a broken screen, and because you are trying to get your computer back up and running ASAP.
If you mention Notebookreview in any shape/sort/or form, your ticket will be forwarded to me automatically - so that a fully qualified nerd can assist with your concerns ;)

P.P.S And please don't think it's attitude, but poster above you (pwr1009) has contacted me, and has received full disclosure of the models they would receive in substitution to the B173HW01 V.4. (N173HGE-L11 being the primary one)

I would have like to have been informed prior to you actually shipping the unit that you did not have the screen in stock despite what your website says.

Nowhere from the time I logged in, until the time that I checked out did I ever once see somewhere that said that if the screen is not in stock (which your website says it is) that I would be given something of lower quality without my notification!

Incredibly deceptive if you ask me...

The website still says that they're in stock...

    Be reasonable...

As I mentioned above, the reason LaptopScreen exists, is because people break their laptop's display, then look to get their computer up and running.

So if anybody with a broken B173HW01 screen were to come to our website, and to purchase the above item from us, their computer would be back up and running.

Although I do agree that in regards to these specific 4 screens, substitution will not be of the same optical/physical characteristics
(as it will with most other screens)
But in all fairness, neither will the price for the EXACT B173HW01 V.4 be $74.99.

The lowest I found on eBay was $139 (with the highest being $316.98).

    -----edit----
We have addressed this on our website by putting an out-of-stock item for the "EXACT B173HW01 V.4"
    -----edit----
(And we are trying to source them for regular stock, but lots of suppliers offer just as good working ones from different manufacturers =)

Always welcome to PM me for the stock/models info.

    Ellis

I looked into the exact specs for both screens, to actually see what the differences are, so basically N173HGE-L11 has

    108% Contrast ratio of B173HW01 V.4
    100% response time of B173HW01 V.4
    100% viewing angles of B173HW01 V.4
    100% brightness of B173HW01 V.4
    75% gamut of B173HW01 V.4

It's seems that the only major difference is the color gamut,
which the V.4 V.7 screens are famous for, however, let me note,
Color Gamut is most important for graphics-to-print designers,
and a typical user would not be able to tell the difference,
unless comparing both panels side by side.

I'm sorry, but you're missing the point.

I went to your website and it said that you had "A" in stock at a certain price. I paid for "A" + shipping and I received "B" without ever being updated, or asked if it was alright with me. Then entire time I was 100% under the impression that I was going to receive what I had ordered.

I realize that the AUO screen is more and that is why I ordered from your company because it stated on your website that you had them in stock at the advertised price. I thought "wow, this is a great price! I should buy it from these guys since they seem legit". Not, "Well, even if they don't send me what I paid for, at least i'll get something".

The fact that you just sent me something else without updating, or inquiring as to if it was alright shows nothing but arrogance and contempt for me as a consumer.

I feel that I am being 100% reasonable in my complaint because I am simply stating the truth and experience that I received from your company.

Hi, I have a Dell Precision M4600 with WLED lcd but I would like to upgrade to IPS due to better color reproduction and viewing angles. On laptopscreens.com I found: LP156WF3(SL)(B2)
    63.99 $.

Should I buy it? Looks like too cheap to be good.

It is the exact panel you want:

It's a 50 pin Dell connector, ensure that your computer is compatible with such item.

And you are right, we're definitely robbing ourselves selling this panel so cheap - but hey, we are not super greedy - all our prices are oriented to ebay,
and since theres no competition for this panel, you should definitely take advantage.

Also ask about our LCD tutorial Video Bonus promotion (if interested, through PM)

    Cheers!

I'm not 100% sure on this, but the IPS screens are not compatible with the non-IPS screens. The IPS ones have 50 pin cable and work on 10-bit color depth. The non-IPS screens have 40 pin cable and work on 8-bit or 6-bit color depth. The M4600 IPS and non-IPS version has a different motherboard for this reason!

Correct me if I'm wrong, it is as far as I know.

Correct, IPS panels have a different pin-out, typically an entirely different connector.

I'm sure the standards required to drive such a panel would be different from conventional LVDS - so the motherboard will have to be equipped with a proper IPS-LCD driver (chip not software).

This is the worst company. I received a defective product and they won't replace it saying it was my fault. Now I am out 155.00. When I called customer service and spoke with the managers, they talk down to you and talk over you like collector does. I hate this company. I would like to report this company it is a scam. If anyone knows of how and where that can be done please let me know at [email protected]. Thank you!

Customer received, installed and enjoyed the screen for 8 days, on the 9th they contacted us with the following picture to support their warranty claim.
    PastedGraphic-1.jpg

It is our opinion the damage depicted above is of physical nature (Mouse, pen, usb stick, etc left on the keyboard), matters like these are outside of our control, therefore we do not cover physical damage under our warranty.

After a long and tumultuous discussion customer was provided a partial reimbursement to sweeten their luck :)

After one failed experience with a Taiwanese company i'm hoping to order a screen asap, but I want to make sure I get the exact screen I see listed on you site. I'm looking for an AUO B156HW01 v4. Any way you can confirm that is the exact screen I will receive?

I had a great experience with Laptopscreen.com, really good customer service. I left an email for help and Ellis was quick to get back with me with a phone call. It was awesome since he suggested an even better screen that would be compatible with my Dell Studio XPS 16. Though there are a couple dead pixels that showed up after installing so I sent a trouble ticket to their customer service department so hopefully they can help me out with that. All in all it's been a great experience thus far and I will definitely be going back if I ever manage to break a screen again

Another satisfied purchaser from laptopscreen.com here. Replaced my dell vostro 3450 screen. Screen quality is slightly poorer than OEM, with worse viewing angles and less rich colour, but this is a work machine and overall for the price I am satisfied.

Took longer to install and was definitely more challenging than in the video they supplied, which glossed over the most difficult aspects (removing the bezel, screws, unplugging the screen cable, etc). But it still was a relatively simple operation that I could redo in about 15 minutes.

Delivered within 5 days of ordering, including weekend time (ordered on a thursday).

Would definitely order from them again.

    Hello LSB,
I am a newbie to this website so I don't have access to PM you at this moment.

I bought a laptop screen for the first time from your website, but was not happy with my experience. Before I post my bad experience at this website, would you please look at my ticket number 150383 and let me know if anything else can be done? I really need the exact one that I ordered. Please contact me through my personal email address attached to the ticket.

    Thanks!

I just ordered a replacement screen for my Acer Aspire 5750-6421. I had no problems receiving the screen (arrived within a couple of days). I followed the installation video from their site and had no problems whatsoever (took about an hour)! I used a razor blade instead of a guitar pick like they used in the video and it worked well. I just had to be careful not to cut through a wire (or my finger). I was very happy with my purchase and the result. My new screen works great!!! I highly recommend buying from them.

I think you need to be a little more patient with them?

Not a good idea to put the order number here (I think).
