LSB, not sure if you are still monitoring this thread.

Unfortunately just broke my screen on a Samsung NP700Z7C-S01UB. Looking on the site I see item number 358530. The question I have is while I know this is a compatible replacement LCD, does it differ in specs anyway from the original?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Marc

    Hi mr19,

It's really hard to say whether the specs will differ because laptop manufacturers typically use several different LCD models in their computers.
It usually depends on the time you buy one particular model in it's life, and some laptops have been discovered to have been shipped with up to 7 separate LCD models.
Each LCD model will have it's own specs, and they range up and down on Gamut, Brightens, Contrast and Viewing Angles.

If you PM me your current LCD model (i.e. B173HW01 V.3), I'll be able to pull up the specs, and tell you the LCD models and their specs that we ship for your laptop now.

We only sell brand new LCDs, so when we say compatible, it's because the model number will be for a newer manufactured panel.
We prefer to pick the best quality panels from our suppliers, and value better viewing angles and contrast the most.

    Regards,

    LSB

    Hello LSB Sir,

I'm in a bind, having cracked my screen and needing a replacement ASAP... which probably differentiates me from approximately... none of your customers.

I believe my exact laptop model was a Best Buy Canada exclusive, so I somewhat doubt there are a great deal of them out there. Also, I've never ordered or replaced an LCD before, so I'm a little wary in trusting myself to order the correct screen... I can't afford to get it wrong and have to wait an additional few days to replace a replacement. I've sent in an info request through the website, and if you may be able to assist me, that'd be... well, that'd just be swell! My ticket number is 181642.

Also, since I live in the greater Vancouver area: Is it possible to come and pick it up from your Vancouver location?

    Cheers,

You should be able to hook your laptop up to another monitor and go into device manager properties and the device manager device ID for the LCD screen.

Thank you, good Sir, for attempting to help me. Unfortunately, I don't know exactly what I'm looking for (I was a wizard back in the Windows 3.1/DOS days... honest!).
    :confused2:

    The labtop is a Toshiba L745D PSK16C-00U003

In the Device Manager, under Monitors, I get 'Generic PnP Monitor'.

In that, I get the following:

    Hardware Ids: MONITOR\SEC3741
    Compatible Ids: *PNP09FF
    Device class guid: {4d36e96e-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}
    Manufacturer: (Standard monitor types)
    Physical Device Object name: \Device\0000011a

I imagine none of that is helpful... and I'm not looking in the right place and/or for the right thing. If you wish to (and can) give me more guidance, that'd be lovely... but I won't expect it. ;)

Thanks again for your purely altruistic display of kindness. Yet more proof that Ayn Rand was a dirtbag.

    Apologies for 'bumping' this, folks.

I'm actually just replying to LSB, in the event he receives automatic e-mails when he's replied to. I just signed up here, so I cannot send P.M.'s yet. LSB: I submitted my ticket (181642) on the weekend, so I imagine it's currently in the queue. I was just hoping you'd personally take a look at my information request, as you mentioned you like to do for people who post in this thread, or mention notebookreview in their ticket, which I neglected to do. Thanks very much.
