I just ordered one today from Buy.com for $167.99 after a coupon. The new perpendicular 5400rpm drives look to offer relatively the same type of performance as the 7200rpm drives with more storage space. 5400rpm drives are also more quiet, consume less power and produce less heat then 7200rpm drives. Anyone else ordered one for their laptop yet? What about one of the Seagate 160GB drives? The Seagate 160GB perpendicular drives have been out for a while now and there are quite a few reviews on the net for them.

I'm in UK and have placed an order for the SATA version of the 5K160, 160GB. The supplier's website shows one due in stock on 6th September, but I don't know how many other people have ordered the same one unit, so I would not be suprised if I have to wait a while longer.
I wait to see the actual performance. The specified maximum data transfer rate is impressive (540 mbps).

Anyone using an Hitachi 5k160 160GB drive yet?
