    Hello everyone,

I found the drive with a $30 off on Newegg, but some of the review scares me. The major problem seems to be the power save feature of the drive keep spinning it down, and there is no software to change it. If you got the drive, is that a problem?

I bought a 1.5TB Seagate Expansion external drive for my laptop and have problems with it constantly powering down, then waking up; causing Windows to do a scan each 5 minutes and poping up an auto run screen each time too.

Let me know your experience if you got the drive.

    Thanks,
    Gnimble

Which product code - the WD6400BEVT or WD6400BPVT?
I have the former, and haven't noticed any such slowdowns related to drive spindowns.
It runs a bit hot, however.

I have 4 of these drives, I'm a huge fan of the Scorpio Blue series, I've had 320gb 500gb and now the 640gb ones.

I have 1 in my DV7 as a storage drive

Using 1 in an Asus N10J

I have the 2 other in a raid 1 config in my server for backup purposes.

here is a HD tune of the drive
