I know you're supposed to let the stuff sit for a while... (the amount of time escapes me at the moment)
But do you really just have to leave it there for that long? Will that mess it up if you don't?

You can start using your system right away after you apply Arctic Silver 5 - however, it will not become fully effective until after 200 hours have passed. ;) Your temperature will continue to get lower during that time period. I notice an immediate change in temperature when I first install it and it only gets better.

Alright awesome... that's what I thought, but I didn't want it to not work properly... But I really didn't want to not be able to use my lappy for that long.

Yeah too much is a bad thing. Make sure to use the recommended amount and spread evenly.

What about applying it to GPUs?

You can do that too, but that all depends on whether or not you can get to your GPU core.

do you normally have to take the whole bottom of the laptop off? It looks like I have to to get to anything properly.

Yes you need full access to the CPU chip itself. Take a look at our cooling guide.

I can't really take the whole bottom off... all the plug-ins are connected to it and stuff... And the little pannel's I take off to view the individual stuff doesn't give me enough access

I have AS5 on my gpu core for the cpu I use a thermal metal pad, it works even better than AS5 for me. I got about 2c better temps closer to 3 but its an average. Plus its a fool proof install.

I got the zalmans on the way, you dont like it seraph??

I wanted the coolermaster notepal infinity but its not avalible here stateside and by the time I pay the 17$ s&h it would have cost as much as the zalmans.

Zalman is pretty good... Does keep it cooler, though I haven't checked how much exactly. It's quiet.(not really something I care about)

It doesn't blow near as much air as I thought it would... but it's evenly distributed and constant.

It should work well for me, have you seen the mod I did to the c90? with that setup just any airflow should give me dramatic cooling.
