Falkentyne Notebook Prophet
When you can get a 2 tb for $600 or a 512g for $117 and 1TB for $220...Linus is full of more hot air.

The 2 TB 660p, which is the only one of that line worth getting, is only $349.

If you buy a TLC with 240gb at minimum you will be fine for a while, this chap has a great video explaining SSD's life expectancy and how much data you can write every day:

It's the direct consequence of cutting corners to make a sale.
And this is the primary reason DRAM-less SSDs exist. -

I'd been checking newegg, but so far haven't seen that $250 2TB special, the price is currently $423.99:
Intel 660p Series M.2 2280 2TB PCI-Express 3.0 x4 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDPEKNW020T8X1 - $423.99

The cheapest I can find right now is TigerDirect for $309.99:

Starlight5 Yes, I'm a cat. What else is there to say, really?
I believe this QLC drive is still better than cheap TLCs from most second-rate & noname vendors - those are outright terrible.

If you look closely at the page, you'll see that price is from a third-party seller. Newegg itself sold out at $250 by around noon on Thursday, and it's been that way ever since.hmscott likes this.
