Hi, I am looking to buy an acer laptop.
Here is the link to it.
http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/563960/ACER-AS5338-304G16MN/tab/specification
But it doesn't clarify that it is dual core when normally on cheap laptops they make a big deal about it. I've searched everywhere and it seems to be a dual core processor but I want to make sure.
Please help
Thanks

Did you check www.intel.com?

I did check and couldn't find a single core one but I'm just not completely convinced. I would like a person that knows to have told me as opposed to the possibility of a scribal error.

The T3000 is a dual core processor and only a dual core processor. The T3000 and T3100 are dual core penryns and the 900 is a single core penryn. Any dual core socket P celeron begins with a 'T' and any single core socket P celeron starts with a '5' or '9.'

Besides, Intel doesn't use the same name for multiple processors. -
Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
Oh, but they've messed up a few times. There are Socket M Core Solos T1400 to T1600, Socket P Celerons T1400 to T1600, and I think some of the Celeron 500 models have two different chips under the same name as well... -
Core Solo T1400 isn't the same name as Celeron T1400. For the Celeron 500 series it is the same chips but for socket M and socket P. The socket M chips are called the Celeron 'M' 5x0, and the socket P version of the same chips are called the Celeron 5x0. I think the same thing happened with the socket 478 to 775 switch with the Pentium D. They wouldn't come out with two Celeron T3000's with different specs though.

I know they're different parts. That was my point - you said Intel never gives two different processors the same name (although I assumed you were just referring to the TXXXX part), and I just said that they've messed up a few times. -
Alright. To add, I think that Intel's naming scheme is total crap and doesn't impart any relevant information about the actual processor.

Good chip. Very good chip.
The Pentium dual core is the same chip clocked at 2.0GHz, which is a tiny difference in the real world.
These are cheap chips with processing power beyond top end processors of just 3 years ago.
Are all Intel Celeron T3000 dual core?
