I would like to replace Wireless WAN card in my x230 with an mSATA SSD and since I won't be using the WWAN card anymore I would sell it.

Do I have to remove the antenna set and include that with the WWAN card or would all Thinkpads have that antenna set even if they didn't come with a WWAN? Are there any other parts to remove and include? I imagine the part that takes the sim card might be missing on some laptops if they are not WWAN-ready.

    Thanks!

Keep the antenna, it's laptop specific and all thinkpads have it (afaik). If you were to buy the WWAN card off the net for example, they wouldn't provide antennas with it. Also, it's usual for the SIM slot to be very far away from the actual WWAN card, and not removable (so nothing to be concerned about).

If you plan to sell the wwan, drop me a pm, aye? :) If the price is good, I may take it off your hands.

Assuming there is one there, the modem can always be removed...
antennas may be removed though i doubt it will benefit you noticeably.

Removing the antennas would also involve quite a bit of disassembly which in my opinion is not worth the trouble. All thinkpads come with the antennas already in anyways.
