I'd say that the Lenovo Thinkpad has among the best touchpads and keyboards.
As far as gaming goes, why not add a third mouse button in the middle or even go the way of 6 button touchpads the way workstation laptops are? I find that very useful when no mouse is available.
I really liked the P70 keyboard as well. Relatively quiet, and good feedback.
Why can't gaming laptops have anything similar? I liked the M18x R2, although feedback could have been better.
I'm not a fan of the Clevo keyboard and agree with the criticisms discussed here:

Because I think a lot of companies assume that gamers will use their own external keyboards are mice most of the time.
That being said, the keyboards on MSI gaming notebooks are very good.Kent T and Starlight5 like this. -
Agreed to the point above. Chances are if you get a laptop from the more well known brands they would assume peripherals are already part of your setup. I would say the Ideapad series also has prrtty good keyboard's. My old Y580 was very comfortable to type on. My current Clevo P150SMA is pretty bad compared to that. MSI makes very consistent keyboards across their line up. Tried it on their GS70 and compared it to their GT72 and a lower end GE62 at a retail shop. All of them had near identical feedback and travel. It should be the standard to which gaming laptop keyboards are built to imo. And their lighting is on point. Love the way they made the edges translucent

Because gaming machines also are focused on gaming. Not getting work done. And even ThinkPad keyboards are not now what they used to be either. The 30 and older series keyboards on ThinkPads are superior to the newer models.

if you meant those old style dome keyboards instead of chiclet... AW still have those
but the touchpad is mediocre, still not bad with some fine tuning -
The last time I used a Thinkpad my down and right arrow keys broke. Worst Keyboards I've dealt with. I've had my HP laptop for 3 years and all of the keys are functional up to this day.
Are there any gaming notebooks with a keyboard and touchpad like the Lenovo Thinkpad series?
