I can't think of legit reason why they can't do that as there are OLED displays for tablets, tv, phones and the cost would only be $200 more then LCD for a 15" display.

1) OLED is expensive to manufacture.
2) OLED is an immature technology. It suffers from decreased brightness and burn-in over time.
3) OLED is expensive. Right now, there aren't any manufacturers making 13", 15", or 17" OLED panels. Which means it will be expensive to buy parts.
4) There are "good enough" equivalent technologies that give the image quality of OLED, like IPS panels. OLED can give better contrast ratio, but IPS panels are more than "good enough" image quality.
5) The other primary benefit of OLED is battery life on blacks... important for a portable device like a smartphone with a small battery, but has less of an impact on laptops with larger batteries (or plug-in monitors that are attached to desktops).TomJGX likes this. -
BTW... when you said that you can't think of a legit reason why not OLED... check out this web page:

Are there any mainstream OLED laptops or pc monitors coming soon?
