You can, but it is going to be a bit expensive.
The S270P uses IDE/PATA based harddrives.

There are three harddrives you should look into,
    the Samsung HM160HC, (160gb 5400rpm)
    Western Digital WD2500BEVE (250gb 5400rpm)
Western Digital WD3200BEVE (320gb 5400rpm) - nobody tested yet here on nbr

I tested the Samsung HM160HC head to head with the WD2500BEVE, and the Samsung drive is the faster of the two drives.
The WD3200BEVE was just released a few weeks ago, so it should perform very similarly to the HM160HC.

You can read my review of the samsung drive here:

Please note that before upgrading your harddrive you should check to see if it supports it.
Download "hdtune", go into the info tab.
If the "48 bit Address" box is checked than you can upgrade to 160GB or more.
If the box is unchecked, it will only see up to 137GB.
I know my S260 only recognizes up to 137GB, so the S270 may also have the limitation as well.
