    Aspire 3620 Core Duo Support?

    Hi, Im looking to upgrade my laptop processor and i have an aspire 3620 with a Acer Garda-910 motherboard and was wondering if this motherboard supports core duo?

    these users at this thread might be able to give you a definitave answer.

    what chipset is in the lappy?? the intel GM910?? if so i'd say you might be able to use the same T5300 CPU that the 3680 users have had such great success w/. what CPU is in you laptop now? do you know what SOCKET type you have?? I bought a few socket M CPUs on Ebay only to find out later that my Aspire 5315 uses a socket P CPU. just do some serious research before purchasing. i'd hate to see you end up like me, stuck w/ CPUs you can't even use.

    Chipset is reported i915gms/i910gml. Unsure of socket type is there anything from cpu-z that might help me determine this?

    Actually a better question would be what processors have been made in a sucessful swap for the 3620?

    CPU-Z should mention the socket type. What processor do you have now?

    Intel celeron m 380 - 1.6ghz - package 479mPGA

    I think the m is the socket type.. I am an AMD fan so im not sure how these are labeled.

    Does anyone know if this chipset supports 533mhz fsb on the processor or ram?
