So I've taken notice of the temp of my video card reaching 100C
and presently as I type this it's sitting at 96C, granted I have a 3d game
running in the background.. I thought the normal temp even then was around
    80C.

Can I get some thoughts out on this? what might be going wrong? how do I
    fix said issue if so?

I've replaced the charger that died on me, am using a brand new 150w
and my fans aren't broken an I'm using thermal silver of course.

    512mb DDR2 & 256mb DDR3 Nvidia 8600GT cards are being used btw.

Very sure nothing is blocking it, but I'll do a more in-depth disassemble
just to clear any imaginable possibility so brb in a few.

Ok well I opened up the laptop, went an took everything apart inside.
Cleaned all the minor dust I could find anywhere, no blockages what so ever.

I even cleaned the fan blades an the path around them clear of the light dust.

That is really strange, does it feel like 100C?

What software do you use to monitor your tempratures? Also, I would suggest you to remove your battery if your tempratures are that high, heat will reduce your batterylife.

This is normal for the C90S. Mine idles at 86 and load at 100. Been like this for 3 years.

the video card runs near 100C when 3d games are running, otherwise like
right now it's been idle at 72C which is what 3d temps should be but their not.

I'm using Real Temp 3.40 atm, I've cross checked it with speed fan an speccy
which report the same temps. My battery has prolly already gone to hell as
for whatever reason it won't last on long travels.. it dies magically while fully
off an not in use IN the laptop bag then again my psp did the same.. so idk.

An yeah it sure does feel 100C if you open it up an try to touch it.
Also my friend says my fans are set to auto, any idea how to get them to
be truly always on at max speed? as speed fan isn't doing this.

There isn't any settings for that in the bios 1002 btw.

Can you turn up the fan speed?

The C90S fans can only be on auto and they are activated by CPU load. When I used to play game, I would run folding@home in the background so the fans would be running at maximum. Even then, I would load at 94-96 degrees.

A C90S idling at 72 is actually very good.

It is a design problem, you will never get temperatures under 90C without doing a physical mod.

Design problem? wth.. isn't that the sort of thing that falls under the lines of
"flaws in worksmanship" or something like that? that warrants the company to
do a recall an repair said flaws? >.> or at the very least something along the
lines of selling a faulty product on purpose? an if so isn't that illegal somehow?

Last I remembered selling "lemons" wasn't legal.. if u know what I mean.

In any event.. I used to run 3d games around 78C on this very laptop.
Seeing it burn up over 90+ is like o.0 to me, an isn't that damaging to the
video card? an wasn't 80C+ for cpu also the same?

Sigh.. oh.. an no I've no idea how to get the fans to go higher than my
    current measures attempted.

100 degrees Celsius is hot, but it's still a safe temperature.

But the C90S does not tend to fail. And 80 on your CPU? Which one do you have? Mine never goes over 68C. Desktop CPUs safe temps are 70~75 depending on models. GPU usually go to 100+ no problems, especially mobiles.

GPU on 100+ degrees is dangerous!!!

90+ already consider quite dangerous, not to say 100++

to solve ur problems, 3 steps.

    1. Undervolt the CPU using the undervolting guide.. just make sure u select desktop CPU instead of laptop..

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...arket-upgrades/235824-undervolting-guide.html

    2. Try the Riva tuner tweak in the link below.. it should undervolt ur GPU in a way and drop load temps a lot...

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/gam...-rivatuner-better-powermizer-alternative.html

    3. Get a notebook cooling pad and blow ur vents with compressed air often...

The C90S always ran at 90~105 for most people. I used to keep mine at 96C while gaming. It's not good but it's not bad either for this laptop. The GPU's heat is not moved between the other components.

I'm considering undervolting for both, however in the meantime.. strange
events have occured.. bearing in mind I already have a dual fan cooler under
    the laptop at all times.

I noticed while playing FF11 my video card runs under 80C an as low as 66C
but for some forsaken reason.. old games like thief 1-3 make it burn, I've
even tested it on "WoW" an it still burns there.

I did however notice while the video card would burn the CPU would stay
just under or at 80C whereas in FF11 the CPU would get real hot near or
just above 80C an the video card would appear very decent as previously
    mentioned.

Just wth is going on here?? I don't have AC in my room but with the windows
wide open an a freezing room it has no effect on the temps in either case.

I'm so lost with this situation.. btw as I type this I'm rocking cpu 60-61c
and gpu 70-71c back an forth slightly.

So I think I've got the hang of undervolting the CPU, however messing with
the rivatuner will have to wait, that powermizer switch gives me JIT errors
    so any ideas from here?
