I got a look at the new Asus Eee 1002HA. It has a solid finished look like that of the HP Mini and the Acer Apire One. I was turned off by the Aspire as the Mini PCIe slot is non-functional.

Does anyone know what slots/bays/connections the Asus 1002 has inside? I am looking for two PCIe slots (one for the WiFi/Bluetooth, the other for a high-speed SSD drive), and one 2.5" HDD.

I will also need to be able to upgrade the laptop to 2 gigs as I plan on adding VIsta (which is why I want a high-speed SSD drive for Readyboost).

    I accidentally wrote 1004 instead of 1002HA

Eee 1002HA is the model in question.

Readyboost isn't that useful if you already have 2gb of RAM. Readyboost mostly makes a difference for 1 gb or less, according to some performance test results I read but I'm too lazy to go and find now.

EDIT: Found it... here it is: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/windows-vista-superfetch-and-readyboostanalyzed,1532-5.html ... I guess it can make a minor difference with 2 gb of RAM, as long as you're not expecting too much... and you have a good stopwatch. ;)

For Vista, get a fast hard drive (see the Hardware forum for some threads on that) and 2 gb of RAM... then you'll be set.

Well, I guess I didn't answer your question... sorry for the digression. Maybe someone else knows...
