    Hi,
I have an Asus F3jp with LG(?) drive GSA-T20N. The warranty ended two months ago  .
The drive can't read some dvd/cds (totally random, e.g. it reads Age of Empires 3 disc1 but not disc2).

I managed to put the drive out and back in without destroying anything, so I guess I'll buy a new drive and replace it myself.

    BUT

I have no idea which drive I should buy. :(
Does anybody know which drive(s) can fit in my notebook's slot? I can post the sizes or some photos if necessary.

Before you go the route of buying a new drive, if you haven't already tried this, you might want to try cleaning the drive's laser lens with a soft cloth. My DVD-ROM started having some issues reading some DVDs (although not CDs), just spinning and spinning and not accessing, and after carefully wiping down the lens, it started working fine again.

Of course, it worked. The drive now reads every cd/dvd after the cleaning.

Thank you very much, you saved me some good money ;)
