    Hi NotebookReview Forums,

So my friend recently bought a used Asus F9S and he absolutely loves the portability. He just has one problem, he's coming from being a desktop user and finding the screen resolution too low. He told me has actually run into programs that don't entirely fit on the monitor because of the low Wide XGA resolution (1280*800). I have a 15.4" WSXGA+ display and he likes it's fineness (but dosen't like it's size...<_<) he has 20-20 vision so he was wondering if he could install a Lenovo X200s WXGA+ (it's the only 12.1" WXGA display afaik) display in his laptop. Thanks. The only reason he won't just sell his Asus and buy the X200s is because he plays games casually and is worried about the compatibility of the Intel GMA with some of his older games.

    Thank you for your time.

So I guess it's impossible. That's a bummer, he's probably going to sell his laptop and get a T400 with an HD 3470.

I would not even try that. AFAIK these LCDs and their driver hardwares are highly customized and I don't think replacing different brands (e.g. Lenovo, ASUS, Dell etc.) will work.

In fact there is no guarantee that the same brand but different models will be compatible. I mean you may not even replace the LCDs of ASUS XXX and ASUS YYY machines even though they have same dimensions.
