A BIOS update may allow you to upgrade your CPU, but it won't increase the FSB as that is controlled by your chipset. Download CPU-Z and let us know what chipset you have, then we can tell you what upgrade options are available to you.

I have Chipset PM965, it appears from the information at Intel that the T9600 would be compatible of course the FSB is in question, since it runs 1066Mhz FSB it would adjust itself to 800 Mhz FSB if it that was so would the MOBO would even recognize and boot up with a T9600 cpu installed?

The best you can do with a Santa Rosa chipset is T9500.

PM965 chipset supports 800MHz FSB CPU's only... so T9500 is ur best bet but i would look for T9300 which is 0.15GHz slower and way cheaper... don't get a T9500 unless it is a similar price as T9300...

Ok, Thanks to all, that's kind of what I thought it seems most opt for the T9300 over the T9500 anyway. The speed is insiginificant are there any significant performance distinctions?

Oh BTW maybe I'm just late, but I read in older G1 threads the Asus G1S wasn't supposed to see more than 4GB of RAM? I just popped a 4GB stick in and it's recognizing it all! I'm rolling with 6GB of RAM! woohoo! I'm going to go for 8GB..
