I'm wondering how the performance difference will be between these two computers. Will they be roughly similar or will one outperform the other, and if so by how much.

and remember, we're using the t500 in dedicated mode, not integrated =(

List the specs, you can spec the t500 a bunch of different ways.

Plus, what are you using them for, gaming?

Without the exact specs, it's impossible to tell. Generally, however:

Unless I'm mistaken, the Asus G1s is a last-gen model that uses the Intel Santa Rosa platform and the older Nvidia 8600GT. The T500 will outperform it, as the ATI Radeon 3650 with DDR3 has a slight edge over the 8600GT, and the newer Montevina platform processors will also help. However, exact performance differs in different games, as some games are optimized for Nvidia cards (Bioshock is an example) while others are optimized for ATI (I believe TF2 and Portal are examples). You can regard them as roughly equivalent.

However, the Nvidia 8xxx cards have had widespread failures due to flaw in the soldering that could potentially render the card useless in 1-2 years. I would avoid the 8xxx series cards for this reason.

    thats what i figured

    2GB ram for each
    gddr3 for the t500
    ddr2 for the g1s

    intel core 2 duo
    T7750 for g1s
    P8600 for t500

    nvidia 8600gt for the g1s
    ati 3650 for t500
