Any way to remove vista and go to XP?? I am willing to swap out the drive.
Called ASUS and they say just call software vendors for updates. I have old copies of software I want to run but 64 bits is too much for it. I love the laptop otherwise

Just get an XP cd....Boot from it, format the vista partition and install....!!
But if you have a SATA HDD, you will have to turn off AHCI or Slipstream the SATA drivers into the XP cd..!! XP doesn't recognise SATA HDDs..!!

ya, XP DOESN'T RECOGNIZE SATA  I hate that problem. It's always hard to get the drivers integrated with the xp installation.

Asus does not provide Windows XP drivers for Windows Vista system. I believe they longer provide any Windows XP drivers for their notebooks. IF you want to buy a Windows XP laptop, I recommend Prostar, Clevo or Compal systems.

    Good Luck on your research!
