So I wasn't sure if this post should have been as PC in the marketplace but as I wasn't allowed to post there and this question involved more specific hardware queries maybe this is the place.

I have an Asus G50vt-x5 which is about 3 years old, the motherboard went once and it got it repaired yet has gone again and after checking with two shops it cannot be repaired again so the laptop is in essence dead (unless I buy another $250 motherboard but with shipping and import tax it's not worth it).

So anyway I spoke to the people who currently have my laptop after checking it out and asked if they are willing to buy it for spare parts, they said I needed to make them an offer and I literally have no idea how much an Asus G50vt-x5 is worth with no motherboard. I tried researching the parts separately and came to a value of roughly £400 but think that may be a bit overshot.

I'm happy to get rid of the laptop but I just don't want the place that currently have it to rip me off in regards to it's actual worth. So if anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it.

    Kind Regards,
    Sameer
