I am curious if I can find a Barebone version of the G73.

Looking for it to have the following:

    Chasis
    Screen
    (All Case Panels)
    Motherboard
    Keyboard

I want to install my current
    8GB of ram
    WiFi card
    HDD's
    DVD Drive
    HD5850m
    Core i5 430m (soon to be i7 720qm)

I just don't want to pay the full 1800 for the laptop. *1800 in Canada*

If I am correct in assuming that your 5850 came from the MSI in your sig, then I dont think it will fit into a G73...if you took it from an MSI it should be standard MXM, and Asus uses their own proprietary "flippedd" MXM (similar, but not the same). There are also BIOS issues, I believe

The G73 will only be compatible with Asus modules.

I think the last barebone was the C90S and I think they pretty much said F'this after how the C90S turned out. (C90S was great by the way, just many people do not know how to build a computer and would mess up and Asus had to take the fall for it)

As well, given how hard I've heard it is to take the G73 apart in the first place, I doubt you'll find a G73 barebones except from someone who is parting theirs out for some reason. Being hard to take apart and put together is a bit far from the principles of a good barebones.
