    Asus G73jw lighting botons issue

    Hello all, im sorry if i post wrong here but i got a big problem and i dont know why.. i recently change my video card with a same nvidia 460m , after i open laptop
    The 3 botons in the left corner with lights control /turbo/display no more working good , if i click 1 time light boton its starting all lights without blue lightbar under screen..if i click 2nd time all lights off but the 3botons start lighting then after i try again click all lights realy off ...the 3 botons not work8ng good not lighting property [​IMG] [​IMG] [​IMG]
    There you can see. .if i open all lights the lightbar dont come on, but when i click all lights off the 3 botons come lighting and other not more ..something its reversed , please help me

    Lighting boton on- light on left side botons stop , other working
    Light boton off lightbar open under screen
    Its reversed or idk whats happen..please help me

    Check the ribbon cable (FPC) connecting the top panel to the motherboard. You may have not connected it properly, or it may have some damage to it. Look at the pic below. The cable I am talking about is labeled: "Switch Board FPC"

    Yeaa i see some damage on the ribbon cable , but from where i can buy a new? Im in romania.. i was thinking to it too ,rly can be only the Ribbon cable? Because its too stupid issue

    Hello boss, realy you think its the ribon cable? The ligthing switch not working property, the botons action work good but lighting not..its reversed , i see a damage on a pin i think this can be , but idk where i can find a cable like this . And what is the number of pins of this cable,i cant dissasamble again ,not rly now, what is number of pins of this cable plz

    If you have a damaged pin, then it's probably the ribbon cable. Call Asus first and ask them if they sell these cables. Chances are, they sell the cable together with the entire board it attaches to. If they don't sell just the cable, you can find out the specs of the original and buy it from an electronics supplier or an e-bay seller like badatronix.

    The specs that are important are:

    1) Number of pins on the cable

    2) Cable length in mm

    3) Pin Pitch (distance in mm from one pin to the next)

    4) Direction of pins (pins exposed on same side of cable vs opposite side (inverted))

    5) Voltage, temperature and gauge specs. These numbers should be written on the original cable.
