    I've essentially made up my mind about buying the Asus G750 JM but I was told by the company I'm buying from (saveonlaptops UK) that the OS would be installed on the primary HDD. Because I want a faster boot up time, I'm of 2 mind s now whether I should purchase this machine or not.

    I've read about programs which migrate the OS to the SSD but in all cases I would have to manually swap drives. Any advice?

    For windows 8.1 you need not do anything for reinstalling the OS

    for Windows 7, you need to turn on "Enable CSM" and disable secure boot and disable Windows 8 Fast Boot

    Ensure you only have one HDD / SSD installed at the time you want to setup Windows to prevent Windows Setup from copying the boot files to the 2nd HDD/SSD if you had one
    ==================================================
    Disable Secure Boot and Enable CSM:

    The first step we need to do is to disable Secure boot which is only essential for installing Windows 8 to access the product key which is pre-installed in the BIOS; for Windows 7 setup, we must disable this feature and enable the Launch CSM feature:

    1) Reboot your Notebook then hold the ESC to get the BIOS boot options, then choose Enter Setup

    2) Go to the Security Tab then disable secure boot from the Secure Boot Control

    3) Go to the Boot Tab then enable Launch CSM

    5) Now proceed to installing Windows / partitioning / formatting your SSD/HDD as needed

    Ensure you only have one HDD / SSD installed at the time you want to setup Windows to prevent Windows Setup from copying the boot files to the other HDD/SSD if you had one
