    Hello denizens of Notebookreview forums!

I was hoping you could help me with a question I have about inverter boards. I have an Asus G50VT-X6 (I think it's an X6) whose inverter board decided to quit working. I took the bugger out and found this PN#: 69N07JI10A01-A01. Now my question is this, I have been finding a lot of potential replacements with this numbeer PN#: 69N07JI10A01-01, it's almost identical to mine except for one less A. To your knowledge are these two compatible? I found one site saying that they were, but I wanted to be as certain as possible before I drop fifty plus dollars on a new part.

Another question I have is this: How can I find out what kind of laptop I have within the G50VT series? The battery has a sticker that says X5, but none of the specs line up. I looked at an old add for a X6 and the specs are identical to my laptop. So if there's any way to find out, I would very much appreciate learning how to do it. Oh, and before someone says "Just look at the bottom of the case, dummy", I can't. The bottom of my case melted a while back and I got a replacement case, and when the replaced it they trashed all my old ID stickers.

    Thanks you!
    Evan

Thanks theJoker, I appreciate the find.

While that helps me out a lot, I'm not so sure it's the inverter anymore. A few minutes ago I just got my screen to turn back on by messing around with one of the cables (picture included) and I noticed for a split second the screen came on. So I unplugged the cable (the disassembly guide calls it the "INV CMOS MIC cable") and slowly plugged it back in again, as I did that the screen flashed on and off, and I heard the "device found" sound. I tried it a few more times; at first the screen would stay lit for a few seconds, but then it would go dim again. After walking away for a little while I tried it once more. This time the screen came on, but it didn't go off! I was so relieved. It wasn't until I shut the computer down and started it again that the problem came back... So I tried the same process again, and the screen came back on! (after many tries)

Does this sound like an inverter issue? Or could it be a bad connector?

Here's the image of that connector I was playing around with...

It could be the video cable which is only like $30:
