    ASUS VS24AH-P 24-Inch LED-Lit Monitor

I been using this monitor for many months connecting it to my laptop without any issue. However there has been times when i would see No signal on my monitor but screen would then work as usually. Recently when i started my computer, i got this message and monitor doesn't work at all. I use HDMI to HDMI as my laptop has hdmi port. Monitor doesn't work at all. I made sure i am in hdmi mode in monitor and still nothing works.

Does anyone know whats the issue here? It just stopped working. My laptop is sager np2740. My laptop does have the issue of the battery not working though that shouldn't have any affect on this? I bought this laptop last year and after few months the battery just doesn't work and i have to have it plugged in all the time.

First thing, check the Windows settings, it's possible that you aren't outputting anything to the monitor. This will also tell you whether the monitor is still detected by your OS.

Try a different video out port and try a different monitor.

How to check window settings? I don't have any other computer monitor. I do have a tv though im not sure how to use it with it. I connected my hdmi cable from laptop to tv monitor then changed to hdmi 1 on the lg tv... it shows no signal....

However is there a way to check if the ethernet port in my laptop work or not? Read online you go to device manager. I see intel iris pro graphics 5200 and it does show this device is working.

So does this mean its either my hdmi cable or my computer monitor only?

Use another cable or unplug and plug in the cable again (on both ends...).

If it doesn't detect the monitor either the cable is bad or your monitor is bad.

I unpluged the cables then switch the ends around to see if that works and it doesn't.

I don't have a spare cable. I had thought i had a HDMI to vga cable so going to try that but found out it isn't compatible with my laptop... had bought the wrong one.

Okay so since it doesn't detect the monitor in screen resolution settings, are you saying 100 percent that this isn't my laptop hdmi port issue?

So what should i do now then? Buy another hdmi to hdmi table to test if that works. And if that doesn't... that means its 100 percent my monitor? I'm wondering if there is a possible chance it has something to do with my laptop hdmi port or graphics card or anything like that.

So if its my monitor, does that mean i have to get a new monitor? Would i be able to buy those usb to hdmi and connect to monitor that way or that wouldn't work?

Another question. I see some hdmi cables in certain places that says up to 1080P. First off my laptop is 1080p... its 1920x1080 resolution. the monitor that i connect it to is 1920x1200 resolution. The hdmi cable would still work right? Thus all hdmi to hdmi cables work no matter what the resolution is? Just want to make sure before i buy it.

A bad port is possible, do you have another HDMI source to test with that is known working? I wouldn't worry about 1200/1080p for the HDMI cable, it really shouldn't make a difference.
