I've got an Asus S56CA which had the Kingston 24GB mSSD cache using the IRST blah blah blah...
I purchased a Crucial M500 Series 120GB mSSD to go in its place.
With that being said, I can install Windows 7 on it, but once i goto restart it, the laptop wont post and will say to change boot drive and will not even register or show up in BIOS like it had prior.
I've trolled and trolled and trolled forums everywhere... Im not totally computer illiterate, and have tried a bunch of experiments on my own.
ANY HELP OR INSIGHT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!

You shouldn't cross post, first of all.
And all the 'blah blah blah' and 'bunch of experiments' you've tried would be helpful to anyone who might want to help.

Roger, thanks for the update on forum ettiquette, as you can see "newbie" under my name...
All that i have done basically is format and reformat with Disk Management and Windows Installer in different variations.
I've managed to get past the reboot issue with the mSSD not showing up in BIOS and actually installing drivers and programs
on it successfully, but only with an OS on my HDD as well. Once I formatted the HDD containing Windows, the mSSD dosent load anymore as well.
I've never had luck imaging computers at home... at work I can image 30 at a time... go figure. -
Have you taken a look at the bios settings?

Okay, with that information I may have a solution/answer for you.
I would recommend you format the mSATA SSD once more and remove all other drives in the system - then, clean install Windows on it.
This will force the boot files to be installed on the mSATA drive and once Windows has booted up at least once on it's own (not counting the installation reboots required) from the mSATA - go ahead and install the HDD (preferably formatted, clean and empty).
Good luck. -
Alexhawker, yes looked into BIOS. This Ultrabook has very few settings in BIOS.
tilleroftheearth, will do. Will post outcome when completed. -
Good to go! Thanks for input. Totally didn't know how i missed that one, to anxious to get it up and running and not thinking thoroughly...

MrPita,
Glad that it was a straightforward 'fix'.
Take care.
