Hey, I have a laptop that's an Asus S96J and right now I get about 2 hrs of battery life with it with moderate use. Is there an expandable battery like a 9 cell or 12 cell battery for it that would allow greater mobility? I've already done some searching and could not find anything. Please help.

There is a 9 cell. And you should be able to get 4 hours out of the 6 cell.

You can buy a 9 cell from Geared2play at www.geared2play.com. I think it's either under power or accessories. It is a generic 9 cell that will work with all VBi notebooks and a lot of other previous Asus models.

I have a Z96, as well as a 9 cell to go wit my standard 6 cell. The 9 cell is nice to have... it sticks out a bit but it is not too bad. Read my review on www.asusforum.com to see pics and dimensions of the 9 cell. If I remember correct, it sticks out about 3/4 of an inch, and is about 1 inch high(same hight as the standard battery.

To maximize battery life, lower screen brightness as much as possible, turn off Wifi, disconnect unnecessary external devices, make sure ATI's power play is enabled, and use "powersavings" profile with power4gear.

Maybe with the LCD backlight turned off, saying anything otherwise is just plain misleading.

Thanks, I called Cyberpowerpc, where I bought my laptop, and they said it was an 8 cell. I was dubios at first, but several of my friends have 9 cells and they get the same amount of batt life(around 2 hrs with moderate use) with similar laptop builds so I'm more inclined to believe. JPZ, how reputable is geared2play? And how do you enable ATI's powerplay?

You can change the PowerPlay settings in ATI's Catalyst Control Panel (video card driver settings). It should already be on by default but on the medium 'Balanced' setting instead of the lower power 'Optimal Battery Life' setting.
