Hello everyone,
I have been having some trouble with my Asus tp550la in that when the battery drops below 30%, the screen starts to flicker and becomes progressively worse as the battery drops. I did a lot of research on this and tried many things, but just decided that it probably has to do with the screen inverter and would replace the entire lcd.
Now looking on ebay I noticed that people sell LCD screens and that some of them are 1080p, 4k, etc. I know that my laptop cannot drive a 4k screen, as it cannot even stream 4k youtube videos without stuttering. But it should be able to drive 1080p. This laptop won't ever be used for games or anything, but I would like more screen real estate so that I can be more productive.
Is it possible to change the screens out and then put the touch bezel back on? They're separate pieces and have their own connections. The screen is a 40 pin and 30 pin to the motherboard itself. So I just need to purchase a 1080p 40 pin screen, correct?

Run HWInfo and post here what is your current display model.
That laptop page is amusing, states Full HD display, then on the specs lists 768p display
It should be possible to upgrade to a FHD display, but removing the touch without breaking it wont be all that easy.
Asus TP550LA 1366x768 to 1920x1080?
