I own an Audigy 2 Platinum on my desktop and an Audigy 2 ZS Notebook. The latter does not fit in the U6 so I had to buy the express format version. Creative offers two solutions however they are the same thing except one broadcasts via Wi-Fi and the other does not. I don't need to broadcast my music via Wi-Fi so I purchased the old one including the optical adapter for the 7.1 System.

After 1 day of usage I am very upset. It is horrible and all my goodies from the Platinum are not there :(. I've no control on the treble, bass, EAX, custom presets, THX, etc :(. I managed to tweak it somehow and installed all the Creative updates. My latest issue is with a horrible stutter. I use my U6 plugged or on High performance all the time and with Creative Media Source I have crackles, pops, and stutters when I play/pause tracks. I installed Winamp and tried the ASIO driver but no, this card is 100% software and it has no Hardware sound acceleration **sniff, sniff :( :( :(**

It is better than the on-board, no doubt but the stutter is annoying. Is there a solution for this?

Thanks in advance for the input.

Howdy. i have the same card as you and i have no problems at all :(
my 7.1 works and sounds great.
my 5.1 and headphones work great as well lol.
i dont know what you mean by no treble controll, it has a 10 level mixer in the software, you control bass, midtones, and treble etc through the mixer

I fixed the stutter and I have no idea how. Probably with the 5th clean-install I got lucky.

I will attach a snap with my XP Desktop. The snap contains the following:

    1. Creative Mixer with Volume, Bass and Treble. The Bass and the Treble are shaded grey on the photo.
    2. THX console
    3. EAX Console with a custom preset I named Hi-Fi, where I selected my cutoff frequencies
    4. Equaliser. This is the "mixer" you were mentioning. An Equaliser is not the same as the bass and treble from the main mixer. Every professional amp has treble, bass, balance in it. To this amp you connect a 10 band or 30 band equaliser in order to tweak the sound further.

My second attachment contains the X-Fi Control Center. I greyed out the parts where the Treble and Bass show up at random intervals but they cannot be modified :(. I don't understand why they sometimes show up and sometimes not.

L.E: I managed to make the Creative Mixer to show up the Treble and Bass. Shot attached.
