    Asus UX32A RAM is not recognised after upgrade?

    Hey,

    Ive got Asus UX32A, im pretty sure originally it had 4GB of ram. Recently it become really slow, when check the ram on the system:

    I have bough 4GB bar and installed it. (does it have to be installed only physically?) Nothing change still on the system is showing only 2 GB ram are installed.

    Whats wrong with my notebook? :)

    Hi there,

    I believe that notebook has 2GB of RAM soldered (built in) to the motherboard. Your 4GB stick may not be recognized. Try removing the 4GB and see if the notebook still starts.

    I found a note here that says if you upgrade the RAM, the RAM you buy must match the timings of the built-in memory ...search for 'soldered' in this page:

    You can use CPU-Z to find the timings of any installed memory: CPU-Z CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting
    Get the '1.71 zip, English' version.
